Sri Vajpayee Bankable Yojana, Gujarat

The Gujarat Government has introduced a new scheme for the employees of the cottage industry. This scheme offers financial support to the craftsmen of the cottage industry. Gujarat has started this scheme in the memory of our revered former Prime minister Late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee. This scheme is known as “Shri Vajpayee Bankable Yojana 2020”. This scheme focuses on equipping the unemployed youth of the states, aiming to promote entrepreneurship skills and help them become financially self-sufficient with their projects.

This plan aims to provide money to cottage industry artisans. They can receive funds through nationalized banks, cooperative banks, public sector banks, or private banks. The purpose of this programme is to give unemployed people in rural and urban areas access to self-employment. Blind and disabled people are also eligible to get assistance under this programme.

Targets of the Vajpayee Bankable Yojana:
  • Eliminate the problem of unemployment in the state.
  • Empower the youth of the state with entrepreneurship skills.
  • Encourage the youth to become self-reliant and financially independent.
  • Provide financial assistance to those persons, disabled due to an accident or by birth.

In business, the limit for subsidy amounts is different in general and reserve categories. For the general category, the limit for subsidy amount will be 75,000 and 60,000 for rural and urban areas respectively. For the reserve category, the limit will be 80,000.

Note: The maximum limit of subsidy per beneficiary in any sector will be ₹.1,25,000/- for blind or handicapped persons.

  • Standard 4th pass is the minimum education qualification.
  • The applicant should have completed training for at least three months from a private establishment or at least one month from any government-approved Institute.

Rajiv Gandhi Swavlamban Rozgar Yojana, RGSRY

The Delhi Khadi & Village Industries Board, with the assistance of the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi, planned, established and implemented the Rajiv Gandhi Swavlamban Rozgar Yojana(RGSRY). The aim is to provide employment opportunities for unemployed youth, craftsmen, qualified professionals, skilled workers and entrepreneurs through the promotion of lawful manufacturing, trades, tertiary and service sectors.

What are the Eligibility Criteria for Rajiv Gandhi Swavlamban Rozgar Yojana (RGSRY)?
  • Drop-outs from school/college over the age of 18 years.
  • Aspiring Entrepreneurs.
  • Age of the applicant must be between 18-50 years
  • Small-scale industrial units have a total expenditure of plants, machinery and equipment. It should not exceed the limit prescribed by the Central Government for small-scale units.
  • It must be situated within the jurisdiction of the National Capital Territory of Delhi. 
  • Applicants from any technical/professional institution recognized by the Government or its sanctioned undertakings without further training.
Financial assistance as a loan under these rules can be given to any of the following groups/sectors for qualifying projects: —

  • Services (Under the Terms & Conditions, provisions of local bodies and Delhi Master Plan.)
Conditions: 
  • The loan shall not be sanctioned if any loan has already been advanced by the government or any government-controlled financial entity for the same.
  • The borrower shall utilize the loan for the specific purpose for which it is advanced within three months. Otherwise, misutilizing the loan shall result in the imposition of 18% interest, in addition to the possibility of recovering the principal amount.

  • The operating units will receive loans of up to Rs. 3,00,000. (Provided that, the applicant concerned makes a payment of at least 10% of the amount sought as a loan from the DKVIB).

Eligibility
  1. The candidate must be an Indian national and an occupant of Uttar Pradesh with legal status.
  2. The applicant must be between the ages of 18 and 40.
  3. Both the public and the private sector should be assigned to the candidate.
  4. The applicant should have yet to obtain a loan from another bank.
  5. The applicant should not be a recipient of any other government employment program.

Therefore, 25% of the total loan is the margin money required for these two industries.

Unemployed Youth Employment Generation Programme (UYEGP)

The Unemployed Youth Employment Generation Programme (UYEGP) scheme to alleviate the unemployment problems of socially and economically weaker segments of society, particularly among educated and unemployed people, to become self-employed by setting up Manufacturing / Service / Business enterprises.

Eligibility for The Unemployed Youth Employment Generation Programme :
  1. The applicant should be at least an 8th
  2. Age Limit: 18 to 45 Years
  3. 18 to 35 Years (Other Community Men)
  4. Family Annual Income: Should not exceed Rs.1,50,000/-
  5. Residence: Should be a resident of a minimum of 3 years in the same area
Scheme Highlights
  1. For the General Category of entrepreneurs, the Promoter contributes 10% of the project cost, while for the Special Category, the Promoter contributes 5%.
  2. Subsidy@25% of project cost (not exceeding Rs. 1.25 lakhs).
  3. 7 days of EDP training is mandatory for the selected beneficiaries. The District Task Force Committee will conduct interviews to select beneficiaries at least once every fortnight.
